    Habster:

I was listening to Pierre McGuire and Mitch Melnick talking on Team 990 earlier this evening about the discord in Florida. Even though Florida Panthers owner, Alan Cohen has previously denied any intention of approving a Jokinen trade and has publicly given Jacques Martin a vote of confidence (a certain kiss of death!!).
I don’t think Olli Jokinen is an untouchable by no means but it would take an impact player in return to get Jokinen out of Florida. If the Habs were interested, it would take Christopher Higgins or a Mike Komisarek along with a prospect, highly improbable from Bob Gainey’s perspective. Jokinen is signed until the 2009-10 season at a bargain rate/cap hit of $5.25 million per season, a great deal that makes acquiring him that much harder.
Pierre McGuire says a Jokinen-for-Marleau deal is a possibility considering that both players are impact type players.
