I believe Kyle Chipchura is ready to make the next step to the NHL. The Canadiens could use his size down the middle and his good two way play. He states that he will concentrate on his play at his third training and work extremely hard to make the team.
Chipchura also gained a lot of experience from his first pro year in the AHL where he won the Calder Cup with Hamilton. He states that he benefited from living near Ajay Baines who helped him and his roommate, Ryan O’Byrne with life at the rink as well as outside the rink.
If Chipchura can continue to improve his skating( which he has done substantially over the past two years) and keeps working hard, then he will definitely make the Habs roster. He is the type of player Guy Carbonneau loves to have: hard working, defensively responsible and a lot of leadership skills. Sounds like a match made in heaven, doesn’t it?
