Things didn’t look good for the Montreal Canadiens on Wednesday night after allowing a Blue Jackets goal just four minutes after puck drop in Columbus.  Add a waived-off goal and no scoring in the first or second periods to that, and it looked like the Habs might add another tally to their losing streak.  But then, in the third period, the puck found the back of Sergei Bobrovsky’s net three times on the Montreal power play: once by P.K. Subban and twice thanks to Max Pacioretty.  Final score: Canadiens, 3-2. (Read our full recap here: Habs Power-play Fuels Comeback)

Dustin Tokarski took his place in the crease the following night when the Canadiens traveled to Ottawa.  Again, the opposing team scored quickly against the Habs.  And again Pacioretty came through with a goal.  Unfortunately, it would be the only goal for Montreal on this night.  Final score: Senators, 4-1. With Carey Price listed as day-to-day with an upper body injury, thanks to being knocked into the back of the net during the Columbus game, Tokarski got the call as netminder for the second consecutive game.  The New York Islanders were the visitors in the Bell Centre, and the Habs offense was firing on all cylinders.  Subban scored a power play goal in the first, and Tomas Plekanec followed suit with another one in the second period and an even-strength goal in the third.  Dale Weise, Alex Galchenyuk, and David Desharnais added to the tally for a commanding win over the Islanders.  Final score: Canadiens, 6-4.
