The Canadiens would continue their winning ways on Tuesday night, when the Philadelphia Flyers came to town.  The win didn’t come easily, however, with the Flyers striking first with a goal in the opening minute of the game.  Carey Price made some spectacular saves to keep the Habs in it, and Tomas Plekanec was able to knot the score at one apiece in the third period.  David Desharnais came up with the game winner in overtime.  Final score: Canadiens, 2-1 (OT). On Thursday evening, the Canadiens welcomed the Edmonton Oilers to the Bell Centre.  Dustin Tokarski would get the call in net for this game.  The opening period brought a couple of “firsts”: Christian Thomas scored his first NHL goal, with Jacob De La Rose notching his first NHL point on the assist.  Alex Galchenyuk, celebrating his 21st birthday, added another goal to the tally in the second period, and Max Pacioretty potted one in the third.  But the Oilers pushed back, scoring a game-tying goal in the last minute of regulation.  The momentum then swung their way, and they got the victory in overtime with Tokarski looking in the opposite direction.  Final score: Oilers, 4-3 (OT). Things heated up quickly at the Bell Centre on Saturday night as the Leafs came to town for a rivalry matchup.  Toronto got on the scoreboard first, but Brendan Gallagher tied things up just seconds later.  Physical play was prominent in the opening 20 minutes, with Andrei Markov and Sergei Gonchar both taking brutal boarding hits.  Gonchar would not return to the game.  Things remained tied at one-to-one throughout the second period and third periods, forcing overtime for the third time this week.  The extra minutes didn’t help, though, and Price set up to face Jonathan Bernier in the shootout.  Galchenyuk and Desharnais both put pucks past Bernier, giving the Habs a too-close-for-comfort victory.  Final score: Canadiens,  2-1 (SO).
