HAMILTON, ONT – Hamilton Bulldogs General Manager Marc Bergevin announced today that the Florida Panthers have reassigned defenceman Jason DeSantis to the Hamilton Bulldogs, while the Montreal desantis_jason120214Canadiens have reassigned defenceman Brendon Nash to the San Antonio Rampage.

DeSantis, 26, has played 28 games for the Rampage this season recording nine points (2 goals, 7 assists) and 22 penalty minutes. DeSantis played 66 games for the St. John’s IceCaps last season posting 43 points (11 goals, 32 assists) and 58 penalty minutes, which were all American Hockey League career-highs for the defenceman. The native of Oxford, Michigan was third in points and tied for first in assists with the IceCaps last season. In 179 regular season games in the AHL from 2008-2012, the 5’11”, 187-pound forward notched 79 points (15 goals, 64 assists) and 106 penalty minutes with the Philadelphia Phantoms, Wilkes-Barre / Scranton Penguins, St. John’s IceCaps and San Antonio Rampage. DeSantis played four seasons for the Ohio State Buckeyes of the Central Collegiate Hockey Association from 2004-2008 registering 59 points (16 goals, 43 assists) and 150 penalty minutes in 144 regular season games. DeSantis won a Silver Medal while playing for the United States National Under-18 Team at the International Ice Hockey Federation Under-18 World Junior Championship.

Nash, 25, has played 26 games for the Bulldogs this season recording eight points, (1 goal, 7 assists), 39 penalty minutes and a +5 rating. The native of Kamloops, British Columbia missed the entire 2011-2012 season with a shoulder injury. In 101 regular season games with the Bulldogs since 2010, the 6’3”, 206-pound defenceman has posted 38 points (6 goals, 32 assists), 97 penalty minutes and a +27 rating.
