This deal might seem like a minor deal but I think Bryan Murray wanted to add a player like Martin Lapointe in the locker room who has been known to be very vocal and brings good leadership qualities to a team. Lapointe will change the dynamics of the Senators locker room and has won two Stanley Cups with the Red Wings in 1996-97 and 1997-98. He isn’t the same player that he once was when he played in Detroit or Boston but he still brings a physical element that will be missing with the injury to Chris Neil.
