MONTREAL, QC.–Game two of the season featured the Canadiens first visit to the new home of the Penguins, the Consol Energy Center. With two goals in the last 2:12 of the game, the Habs completed the comeback for a thrilling win.
Small groups of Habs supporters scattered throughout the arena in Pittsburgh celebrated. Those of you at home in front of the TV raised a glass in salute. But at a packed pub in downtown Montreal, new friends and old friends cheered, high-fived and embraced after the victory.
All Habs Hockey Magazine hosted parties for Canadiens fans to open the season in four major cities, New York, Vancouver, Toronto and Montreal. As we know, Habs fans are everywhere!
Each event, or Habs Tweetup, was a unqualified success. Credit the dozens of Canadiens fans who wanted to enjoy a shared experience supporting their beloved team, and wanted to meet others who share their passion. It was a remarkable achievement for the All Habs team and a testament to the planning of the Habs Tweetup event coordinators.
In Montreal, on their arrival to the pub, attendees were treated to free appetizers generously provided by Amy (@FlyersRule) and Joe Pilotte, Manager of Operations at Ye Olde Orchard. The 35 reserved seats were quickly filled with people renewing acquaintances and in some cases, meeting for the first time.
The All Habs quiz has become an expected tradition during the first intermission of every Habs Tweetup. Winners were chosen based on correct answers or the most creative. An fine assortment of prizes was donated by Celia (@Celia83), Erica (@HabItHerWay), TD Jewelry, and All Habs.
After the game, the high energy vibe in the building was augmented by a spirited live band. It was a memorable night for all!
