Official Release: Hamilton Bulldogs Release 14 from Training Camp

SHERBROOKE, QC – Montreal Canadiens and Hamilton Bulldogs General Manager Marc Bergevin announced today that the club has released 14 players from training camp.

Forwards Stefan Chaput, Olivier Fortier and Ian Schultz and defenceman Joe Stejskal have been assigned to the Wheeling Nailers of the ECHL while forward Daultan Leveille has been assigned to the San Francisco Bulls of the ECHL.  The following players have been released outright from training camp: forwards Spencer Bennett, Michel Ouellet, Brendan Ranford, Zack Torquato and Kyle Rank; defencemen Sebastian Owuya and Cody Wild; and goaltenders Scott Darling and Cody Reichard.

The Hamilton Bulldogs will travel to Trenton, Ontario tomorrow to continue training camp with on-ice sessions and team-building activities at 8 Wing/CFB Trenton.  The ‘Dogs will play two exhibition games against the Toronto Marlies on Saturday, October 6^th in Cobourg, Ontario and on Monday, October 8^th in Brantford, Ontario.  The Bulldogs’ 17^thseason-opener is scheduled for Saturday, October 13^th at Van Andel Arena in Grand Rapids, Michigan where they will play the Griffins.  The team’s 2012-2013 home-opener is set for Friday, October 19^th when they will host the Toronto Marlies at Copps Coliseum in Hamilton.
