Guy Carbonneau took the high road concerning Alex Kovalev’s criticism and said all the right things to the media today after practice. He’s right when he says that Kovalev should have spoken to him in private about his concerns. I can’t help thinking that Kovalev has tried this approach with the coach but it has fallen on deaf ears…..nobody will ever know!!!
In the end, a player should concern himself with his own play on the ice and let the coaches deal with implementing strategies during the game. Let’s hope Guy Carbonneau and Alex Kovalev can move on and learn from this situation without any lingering resentment.
